Update to the Agenda for June 27 Health Analytics Community Meeting

Happy First Day of Summer everyone!

We have had an adjustment to our presenters for June 27th. The presentation will now be a presentation by Phil Slater. We hope to reschedule the presentation by Dr Phillipe Despres in the early fall.

Phil Slater worked in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, for over 20 years at Oracle and Microsoft. His initial focus was on Business Intelligence tools and the supporting data needs, and more recently he has focused on the governance around data, and especially Big Data. At Microsoft he ran a cross-department team in IT to define and implement their data lake and Modern Data Warehouse strategy.

Phil will be presenting on the need and implementation of metadata and Master Data Management and how to stop your data lake from turning into a swamp. He will go through different approaches to the issue, with pros and cons of each, using practical examples.
We will follow this with an update on the Survey of members and areas of interest for discussion and presentation topics in the fall.
