SNOMED CT Education

Hello Health Terminologies Community Members,

SNOMED International provides online courses, tutorials and learning pathways that help you learn more about SNOMED CT and extend your knowledge and understanding of SNOMED CT. Courses are free to anyone registering from member countries and certification exams are 50% discounted. Please see below for some information on courses from the full course catalogue . Some of these courses/learning pathways also offer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for those that are Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) certified.

SNOMED CT Foundation Course (2022)
This is a revised version of the 2014-2022 Foundations course. Members who might have done that course before are encouraged to consider this for a great refresher on the introduction to a broad range of SNOMED CT related topics, including the why, what, and how of SNOMED CT.
SNOMED CT Implementation
This course has been updated from the 2015-2018 version. It provides an in depth understanding of the SNOMED CT specific knowledge and skills required to implement a SNOMED CT enabled systems. Ideal for those needing to learn about implementing SNOMED CT into digital health solutions.
SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1
This course teaches you the knowledge and skills needed to perform basic SNOMED CT authoring tasks. It also prepares you for the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 Certification Exam.
SNOMED CT Authoring Level 2
This course helps experienced SNOMED CT authors to extend and develop their authoring skills to a more advanced level. It also prepares you for the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 2 Certification Exam.
SNOMED CT Terminology Services
This course teaches the principles of using a SNOMED CT terminology server to search and retrieve SNOMED CT content. No prior knowledge of SNOMED CT is required. This is ideal for those currently using or exploring use of SNOMED CT with FHIR and FHIR terminology services.
