Just want to give a heads up that during the HL7 Canada Community meeting today at 12pm, there will be a presentation by the CodeX Accelerator project.
For those of you that are not aware of Codex, it is a Member-driven HL7 FHIR Accelerator, building a community to accelerate interoperable data modeling and applications leading to step-change improvements in cancer patient care and research.
CodeX Members are achieving interoperability by integrating the mCODE (minimal Common Oncology Data Elements) FHIR Implementation Guide—a standard language for cancer data—into existing and new applications. As a part of this effort, CodeX is developing supplemental IGs, relative to mCODE, that are needed for Use-Case-based projects to achieve success. Further, CodeX demonstrates the potential of mCODE-based data collection and sharing through live Use-Case pilots in the field.
All work aligns with the vision of collecting cancer patient data once, and re-using it to enable a range of Use Cases:
