LOINC is also inviting organizations to review and adapt their internal change management processes to prepare for a more frequent release cycle.

From a Canadian perspective, Infoway's Standards team will be engaging with laboratory terminology implementers across jurisdictions to determine how best to evolve the pCLOCD release cadence. The objective is to align as closely as possible with LOINC releases, while balancing an optimal schedule with technical and operational feasibility.

LOINC has confirmed that:

• The same rigorous quality and validation processes will remain in place
• Pilot activities are expected to begin in August 2026
• Regular biannual releases will continue through February 2027
• Some months (e.g., December) may not include a release
