Announcement of HALO Working Group Launch

Canada Health Infoway attended the SMART North meeting on May 16, 2025 to introduce the new HALO Framework working group.  The recording of that meeting is available here.

We would like to formally extend an invitation to the community to join the working group with the first kick-off meeting on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at 1pm Eastern.

The immediate goal of the working group will be to review the published HALO v1.0.0 draft specification for implementation readiness and address feedback for a planned Fall 2025 release. We are looking for representation from individuals who have an interest in progressing and scaling HALO across the digital health landscape in Canada. If you are interested, please join the working group via InfoCentral. 

To join the HALO working group, please follow these steps:

1. If you do not currently have an InfoCentral account, please use this link to register for one: https://infocentral.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/register. If you already have an InfoCentral account, please proceed to step 2.

2. Once you have successfully registered and logged into InfoCentral, on the homepage you will find a banner at the top that includes a section called "Communities". Under “Communities”, you will see the public working groups including HALO in the drop down menu (towards right hand side)

3. Once you click on the HALO working group, you will see a “Join Group” button. 

4. From there, under the “Events” of the HALO group you will see details on any upcoming meetings. At this time we are coordinating the first kick off meeting for Wednesday June 4 2025. In addition, tabs such as Forum, Documents, etc will be used to post more information about the working group.
