LOINC is has announced plans
to transition to a monthly release cadence
starting March 2027, introducing more frequent and incremental updates.
To support alignment within the Canadian context, we will be engaging more closely with this community.
As part of this effort, we will be circulating a survey to better understand:
- How your organization currently ingests and updates LOINC and pCLOCD
- Your implementation processes and change management approaches
- Your readiness to support a more frequent release cadence
This input will be critical in helping us determine how best to evolve the pCLOCD release cycle, with the goal of aligning as closely as possible with LOINC while ensuring technical and operational feasibility as the Canadian Standards Release Centre.
We encourage all laboratory terminology implementers to participate once the survey is distributed. Your feedback will directly inform national planning and support a coordinated, practical approach to these upcoming changes.
