CIHI is excited to announce the release of the Pan-Canadian Gender, Sex and Sexual Orientation Data Standard!

The Standard and Guidance document were released in Version 2 of the Pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework (pCHDCF) and include:

• Pan-Canadian GSSO data standard – Technical Attributes
Provides technical specifications of the data standard including concepts, code systems, descriptions and usage notes.

• Pan-Canadian GSSO data standard – Guidance for Data Collection and Governance
Provides important recommendations around safe data collection and governance practices, including how the information that is collected should be stored and safeguarded.
