We are pleased to share that Canada Health Infoway’s AI Scribe Program is now live and accepting registrations from eligible primary care clinicians across Canada. The AI Scribe Program is a national initiative designed to reduce administrative burden and improve clinical documentation by providing access to AI-powered scribe tools. Up to 10,000 one-year licenses will be made available at no cost to eligible clinicians, including:
  • Family physicians
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Registered nurses in remote communities
  • Pediatricians delivering longitudinal, community-based care
Clinicians can visit aiscribe.infoway-inforoute.ca to begin the registration process. Once on the national program website, they will be guided to select their province or territory to determine eligibility and access to the tools available in their area. Program implementation is delivered in close collaboration with provinces and territories, with availability, access, and execution varying by jurisdiction. This ensures the program supports the realities of care delivery across Canada while maintaining alignment with national goals.

What is the AI Scribe Program?
The AI Scribe Program is designed to reduce the administrative burden on primary care providers by deploying AI scribe technology across Canada. The goal is to empower clinicians to collect, use, and share patient health data more effectively and effortlessly, enabling easier coordination and collaboration, while streamlining daily interactions across the health system.
AI Scribes use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to help:
  • Transcribe patient visits in real time
  • Generate structured clinical notes automatically
  • Reduce time spent on paperwork
  • Enhance workflow efficiency and support patient care
