Cross-post: On May 26th, the SGWG is pleased to welcome Nadia Bouhamdani, PhD, an author, and researcher of the 2025 Pink Paper on Health from Pink Triangle Press, 2SLGBTQIA+ Health Disparities in Canada. The report presents findings from a national, bilingual, comparative study of health and healthcare experiences among 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Canada.

Dr. Bouhamdani is a Clinical Specialist with the Provincial Medical Genetics Program at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre and has academic and research affiliations with Vitalité Health Network, Université de Sherbrooke.

This work is highly relevant to the SGWG as it highlights health inequities, barriers to care, and experiences of discrimination. From a system design perspective, these findings point to the need for more inclusive and affirming health information practices for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. This evidence advances the national conversation on how GSSO information practices can safeguard dignity, strengthen trust, reduce harms such as misgendering and deadnaming, and support safer, more equitable, and standards-aligned care across Canadian health systems.
