The SNOMED International Content Team would like to informs the SNOMED community of a proposal to inactivate the 19 concepts in the <<303109001 |Pathogeneses (qualifier value)| subhierarchy.
A member requested review of the <<303109001 |Pathogeneses (qualifier value)| subhierarchy in order to consider inactivating any content that did not comply with editorial policies. During the review it was determined that the content is not used to define concepts in other hierarchies and that it overlaps with content in other hierarchies that are being used, e.g., 308489006 |Pathological process (qualifier value)| and 49755003 |Morphologically abnormal structure (morphologic abnormality)|. It was therefore recommended by the Chief Terminologist to inactivate the 19 concepts in this subhierarchy.
If no feedback is received then the subhierarchy will be updated in Q3 2026.
