For Canada, I am not aware of a separate national guidance document that states all drug kits must use a specific unit of measure such as “each.” In practice, kits are generally treated as countable packaged products, so “each” would usually be appropriate when representing the kit as the dispensable/package unit.

That said, Canadian source systems may capture additional details separately, such as:

strength, e.g., mg, mcg, mL;
package size or quantity;
dosage form;
individual components within the kit;
Drug Identification Number (DIN), where applicable.

The main Canadian references would be Health Canada’s Drug Product Database and the Canadian Clinical Drug Data Set (CCDD). The DPD is the Health Canada source for authorized drug product information, while CCDD provides a standardized approach to identifying and naming medications and devices for digital health use. In short, “each” is likely appropriate for the kit as a packaged item, but it should not be assumed to replace component-level units or provincial unit-of-issue requirements or vendor

I don't have an official answer for you and have no idea where that information would be found, but I can tell you that within our system the kits are marked as 'each' (then the individual drugs have their own units separately).
Given I know nothing about Multum and I just asked our pharmacy IT director for what we show in our CIS.

Hello! I'm with Oracle Health and we're updating our guidance for adding kits to the Multum database and I'm not finding any information on units (i.e. milligrams, each, milliliters). In the US all kits are given the unit each. Is that the case in Canada as well? Or is there a document somewhere that I'm not finding with more information?
