February 2021 SNOMED CT International Edition Concrete Domains Technical Preview release available

A message from SNOMED International:

The February 2021 Concrete Domains Tech Preview release of the SNOMED CT® International Edition is now available to SNOMED International Members.

This Tech Preview release provides Members with the opportunity to have an early view of the proposed Concrete Domains changes (including the new Relationship Concrete Values file), in order to help our community to evaluate their tooling, systems and release processes. The Concrete Domains Tech Preview release package has been created in line with the January 2021 International Edition, with drug concept strengths and counts expressed as concrete values in the new Relationship file. It is, therefore, a full RF2 International Edition package (as opposed to a standalone Delta file package containing only Concrete Domains content), containing all International content in addition to the new Concrete Domains changes (ie) it comprises the January 2021 International Edition release as if we had already transitioned to Concrete Domains, as a preview of what the final Release package will look like when the transition is complete.

Please see the full Release Notes (link below) for precise details of all changes in both the Tech Preview package and those planned in the final Production release.

Please, however, be aware that the technical proposal is still in the consultation stage, and therefore changes to the proposal may still be made before the final solution is implemented.

The Tech Preview release package is distributed for evaluation purposes only. It must not be used in production clinical systems or in clinical settings, or distributed to Affiliate Licensees or any third parties at this time.

The SNOMED CT Tech Preview release contains SNOMED CT files in Release Format 2 (RF2) only, distributed in a zipped file.
