Hi HL7 Canada Community Members,

We would like to provide an update regarding the 2026 HL7 Canada Council Chair election.

Following the close of the initial voting period, the results concluded in a tie. In accordance with our election process, a second round of voting will be held from February 18 to February 28, 2026, to determine the successful candidate for Chair.

Candidates for 2026 HL7 Canada Chair
The following two candidates resulted in a tie in the previous round and will proceed to the second round of voting: Members are encouraged to review both nomination submissions carefully prior to casting their vote.

The official voting poll will open on February 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST. A formal announcement, including the direct link to the voting poll, will be published tomorrow morning.

Accessing the Poll
During the voting period, the poll will appear on the InfoCentral home page in the top left corner for ease of access. Members must log in to their InfoCentral account to cast their vote.

The deadline to submit your vote is February 28, 2026, by 11:59 PM EST.

Voting Eligibility
All active HL7 Canada affiliate members are eligible to vote. Each member is entitled to one vote in this round.

If you voted in the first round, you still need to cast your vote again in this round. Results from the first round do not affect your eligibility or your choice in this round. Members may cast their vote for any candidate listed in the poll.

Confidentiality of Results
Voting results will remain confidential until the election process has formally concluded.

Announcement of Results
The successful candidate will be formally announced in the HL7 Community Forum on March 3, 2026.
